Intellectual Property Consulting Services Global Lead Christopher Bakewell Featured in The Wall Street Journal

Christopher Bakewell, Managing Director and Global Head of Duff & Phelps’ Intellectual Property Advisory Services practice was featured in The Wall Street Journal article entitled "U.S. Dominance in Global Services Weakens," discussing the toll recent tariffs are taking on trade in the services sector.

According to the article, the pullback is significant because in the last half-century the U.S. has been the undisputed champion of the global services economy. However, in recent years, China has passed the U.S. as the top producer of scientific and technical articles and leads the world in applications for patents, trademarks and industrial design.

According to Chris, “We’ve probably reached a point of diminishing returns” in U.S. global technology supremacy.
